3 dead as storm Kristine hits Bohol | Bohol News
Three people were killed in Bohol province as storm Kristine brought strong winds and heavy rains to the area, authorities said.
Two of the fatalities were electrocuted while working in a farm amidst the bad weather.
Roberto Gallarde Bahinting, 58, a married man, died after accidentally touching a live service dropwire while clearing his farm in sitio Adlawan, barangay Guadalupe in Carmen town on Wednesday, October 23.
In a separate incident, Ryan Lega Castro, 27, was electrocuted in barangay Vallehermoso, also in Carmen, after accidentally touching a live extension wire while carrying rice from the farm.
The third fatality was a 58-year-old man who was swept away by strong currents while crossing a wooden bridge in Oac, Bilar town on Thursday, October 24, according to PDRRMO chief Dr. Anthony Damalerio. The victim was reportedly on his way to tend to his cattle.
The storm has brought widespread damage and disruption to the province, with many areas still reeling from the effects of the bad weather.
